Mercury Family Tree

I FORGOT TO SLEEP! Will color this later with character explanations...until then feel free to ask me things n__n

Color version now up! I worry about how the colors actually look. Sometimes on other's computers it comes out waaaay to pale. I'm not sure how to correct this.

Maia: Ami's mother, she was originally served Queen Serenity as a hand-maiden. She was shy and flirtatious, and fell in a very deep and forbidden love with Oceanus. This would eventually cause her demise when the influential Thetis became aware of her husbands infidelities.

Oceanus: The husband of Thetis. He was an artist, a musician, and a lover of beauty in all of it's forms- which was a problem when he met Maia while at the Moon Palace. He was entranced by her large dark eyes and felt he were swimming in some unknown feeling when he looked into them. He had married into the Neptune royal family when he was twelve and deeply feared his wife having seen the things she was capable of orchestrating.

Thetis: A very very shrewd woman who managed to claw her way to the top. She managed to dominate what was a previously masculine society with her political maneuvering. When she was twenty she married Oceanus who despite being 8 years her junior became a wonderful political peon. She did not want to have anything to do with Serenity and Apollo's silver alliance until Michiru was three. At this particular time senshi were feared as ill omens- a time of destruction always followed one's awakening. Michiru showed signs of a stronger power than Thetis could fathom. She was also the first senshi of her generation (that Thetis knew of). She feared her completely and utterly. She "gave" Michiru to Serenity- not only to be rid of her but in the hopes of Michiru would bring about Serenity's downfall. With this she joined the silver alliance but had no intention of following Serenity in her quest of peace. During the process of officially joining the Silver Alliance her husband met Maia. Thetis was suspicious of the two's relationship, but did not confirm it until she could sense a similar power to her own daughter growing in Maia. As calm as she seemed on the outside, she was becoming more angry and fearful. Maia had given birth to another monster...and her husband had fathered both of them. After Ami's birth Maia disappeared (doesn't matter that Thetis didn't love Oceanus- no one took what was Thetis') and Oceanus murdered.

Now we have some characters that you may recognize!

Zoisite: Endymion's guardian. (Should I do his profile here?)

Ami: Carried the power of Mercury. Daughter of Maia, mother of Za and Zoe. Her mother left before she could remember what she looked like. For reasons unknown to her she feels calm when playing the harp and listening to water.

Michiru: When she was three years of age her mother gave her as a peace offering to Queen Serenity. Serenity trained her, and feeling it was unfair for Michiru to fight internal conflicts that may involve her mother set her task to guard the solar system from outside forces.

Mik: The son of Kunzite and Minako. Father of Mizuki (More coming soon on Venus family tree)

Za: Daughter of Zoisite and Ami. Wife of Mik, mother of Mizuki. Za had what one would call a somewhat rough childhood. The blackmoon family had attacked essentially the entire world. Most of the senshi had passed on thier power to thier children and were incapable of making any headway in pushing the blackmoon clan back. There was a small time of peace when Za, Kim, Rin, and Jr seemed to have fought them off. Then Mizuki was born. Kim and Za both lost the ability to transform. Most of Za's power is self taught. She can create sharp crystals of ice out of her senshi form as well. She's possessive and headstrong (to the point of disrupting the team unity of the senshi). She does mellow out once her daughter is born though. She's not naturally gifted when it comes to academics and prefers to spend most of her time outdoors- thus her tan she's a bit of a tomboy with effeminate looks.

Zoe: When Mizuki is born the power of Mercury essentially had no where to go (Venus' influence was waaay to dominating). The universe is somewhat self correcting so Zoe came into existence. He now carries the Mercurian power in his family. He's 9 months younger than Mizuki but they are not that close. He tends to be a bit naive and it gets on her nerves. Zoe was also seen as an eccentric who had an "imaginary" friend for waay to long. He was very socially awkward because of this.

Pyrite: Zoe's "imaginary" friend. She was a member of the blackmoon clan that really shouldn't have been. As a punishment for failing she essentially became invisible. (There's a bit too that though but that's another story) Zoe can see her though and they are always together.

Mizuki: ( I drew her as an adult but this profile is mostly her childhood XD)
Daughter of Za and Mik. Mizuki is a very cynical studious child and tends to have knowledge beyond her years but not the wisdom that goes with it. Her closest friend is Usako, but she has a very very hard time showing her affection to her (she's like a bully that runs up and punches her crush). Mizuki is talkative and can be a bit of a know it all. When she seems like she is about to get in trouble she ups her natural cuteness and tries to weasel her way out of it. Mizuki is fiercely loyal but doesn't show it in front of the people she's loyal too leading into a lot of misunderstandings. She feels a lot of pressure as well, as aside from Rin she is the only senshi fighting against the black moon and will one day have to lead the charge.
Reiji: Son of Jadeite and Rei (more on Mars family tree coming soon!)
